Welcome to Moutoux Orchard, a third-generation, family owned and operated farm located in Loudoun County, Virginia, near the town of Wheatland. If you've never tried our delicious fresh fruits and vegetables, you're missing out on one of the summertime's sweetest treasures. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with the ripest, highest-quality naturally grown produce available. All of our produce is picked fresh by hand and sold locally to our community at our Summer and Fall farm stand in Purcellville. We are historically most famous for our delicious peaches ripened to perfection by the summer sun, of which we have nearly twenty varieties. We also grow several acres of mixed vegetables, and have planted new orchards of apples, plums, and asian pears which should begin bearing fruit over the next few seasons. We have also begun growing local, pesticide free grains including wheat, spelt, rye, and oats that we mill to flour on site. We offer a Community Supported Agriculture program and have free range eggs from happy, pastured chickens and raise lambs on pasture for meat. We are firm believers in healthy soil, healthy crops, healthy animals, and ultimately, healthy people. All crops are naturally grown, without pesticides, and we intensively manage for proper mineralization and biological stimulation. We follow the Albrecht model of soil testing and balancing. We are not certified organic by USDA, though we are currently considering it. Click on the links at left for more info about specific crops. We hope to see you out here at the farm some time, as we love supporting our community with nutritionally dense, top quality food! |
